We had a lovely evening out on Wednesday evening at a very lively Spanish tapas restaurant on the river at Canary Wharf.
A friend and I took a menagerie of children to test it out. Tapas is a meal that I think always works very well with kids as they can pick and choose and when they pounce on something they like you can always just order another plate. The restaurant is a bit of a walk from the station – quite a hidden gem, but once you get down on to the river it’s another world and I couldn’t quite believe I hadn’t found it before.
We had cold beers served in iced glasses to start with which was heavenly given the temperature. We then had a bit of Rose and a lot of food. Everything tasted delicious and was nicely presented. It certainly got the full stamp of approval from the kids and I’d definitely go back. Good place for a party too I should imagine – they play music at the weekends and get a different sort of crowd, but ideally, if you want to go for a family meal, go at lunchtime – you could even get there by boat – they have a children’s indoor play area I understand – although it wasn’t open when I was there so I couldn’t check it out.
Manchego cheese – my favourite:-
