We are just back from the most lovely evening out in Woolloomoollooooooooo – what a great name that is and it may not have quite so many ‘o’s’ but it’s just toooooooo tempting (especially after several delicious bottles of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc).

We were out at a gorgeous Chinese restaurant called “China Doll” which was just lovely, located on the waterfront overlooking very expensive boats. Apparently very near to where Russell Crowe lives, but he is currently not in town having popped over to Hollywood for a minute. I was with two couples both of which are very old friends and um, just me – sitting at the head of the table. I was feeling lovely and important until the waiter {who looked just like Heath Ledger but was clearly gay because he was ignoring me and rubbing my male friend’s arm) asked if we wanted to order the dumplings – “they come in a set of four but you can always order an extra one” he said looking pointedly at me….

I am SO much better at being on my own with my married friends than I was a couple of years ago, it almost feels normal now, but still, every so often, I still feel, well, like something is missing I suppose.

ANYWAY. I have decided that I don’t want to go back to London. I need to stay here. Too much aggro back at home. No escape mind you, as my ex is sending me emails about stopping my maintenance even whilst I’m here with the kids on holiday. Oh well, who can blame him, I’d want to spoil somebody’s holiday too if I was angry and upset.

Anyway, as a result, I am working out ways of staying in the country. I think there is a definite need for instructors like me who can help stretch tight muscles and sort spines. I think I could hover about on the walking routes of Melbourne and Sydney and leap out at people I spot en route who are walking incorrectly and then get a huge following, all of which I would make sign a petition to keep me here.

My friend here in Sydney does Pilates regularly. That is another thing I could teach. I’d love to. She told me all about the classes she goes to here. I’m not sure they’d work in the UK though. She says her teacher divides her class into different categories, depending on how flexible you are. She says “we are either a floppy or a stiffy – those in-betweeners are called a flippy”.

CAN YOU IMAGINE how badly that would go down in the UK???? Especially if I was teaching a group of men. I couldn’t possibly say, “well, can you go over to that side of the room because you’re a floppy, and you stay here because you’re a stiffy”.

I’d bloody get arrested.

That’s hilarious… I think I’d love Oz too – their un-PCness and sense of humor is right up my street :). So glad you are having a great holiday there!

p.s. did you ever get legal advice about the maintenance situation?
