On my recent trip to Walt Disney World we stayed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge where you walk into a vast atrium that feels distinctly like walking into a safari lodge in the wilds of Africa. Hand-carved furnishings, rich wood and vibrant colours offers guests the finest in authentic African architecture and design. Guests are immersed in an environment inspired by the cultural splendour and picturesque beauty of an Africa wildlife reserve. Really an amazing place to stay with kids. They have some fantastic restaurants – all african themed and an unbelievable amount of choice for the breakfast buffet. Delicious.

Our rooms featured balconies overlooking a savannah that was home to a vast number of different animals including giraffe, zebra, ostrich and the sacred ibis:-
