“I really CANNOT take that lunch box to school for a day longer. It is just SO embarrassing that people think I am into the Transformers when I’m not. It’s just so uncool. Pleeeese can I have a FOOTBALL lunch box like every body else as soon as possible? (clearly not quite so desperate when I suggest he spends his Easter money on it). Also now I”m nearly 8 I’ve been thinking that it’s time I was on Bebo or MSN so that I can talk to my girlfriends. I was thinking that my web address could be www.myname, bluepoo@whatever:”
“Why Bluepoo?” I ask
“Because it’s COOL mum”.
I tell him that I think he’s too young to be on the computer talking to his friends and although he tries to do yet another rant about how all his friends are on it and he’s the only one, I tell him that’s it now, no more complaining. I warn him that the more he goes on about it the longer it will take to get it. MSN AT 7? What is the world coming to. Anyway, he’s going to have to learn to read and write first.

March 26, 2008Golly. 7 year olds chatting online eh? It scares the life out of me. Sounds like your 7-year old is having an independence surge (much like my six year old at the moment).
the mother of this lot
March 27, 2008Believe me, the ability to read and write is not that great an advantage when MSN chatting. Not from what I’ve seen anyway.
A Mother's Place is in the Wrong
March 27, 2008It’s all so worrying. And almost impossible to keep track of. At least you’re on the case.. and they talk to you about what they’re doing. Don’t give up. M xx
