EPCOT opened in October 1982 and is the park where creativity is encouraged, imagination is celebrated and countries are united. Here is where Walt’s dream of an Experimental Prototype Centre Of Tomorrow was created to work on exciting and future projects and where the world is showcased with hands on experiences to be tried out and tested. The boardwalk is stunning – no more so than in the evening when they do their Illuminations show – but more of that later. Here are the day time photos:-
First we all had breakfast together at Kouzzina by Cat Cora, a charming Mediterranean cafe that serves a hearty menu all day long, located at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort Area which is gorgeous. Look at our breakfast options:-

The areas are themed – Future World focuses on discovery and scientific achievements and includes Innoventions, Spaceship Earth, Universe of Energy, Imagination!, The Lane, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, Test Track, Mission: SPACE.
My favourite ride of all is here – Soarin’ a ridiculously gorgeous flight over California where you feel as if you are suspended in the air for an exhilerating gliding adventure that includes drops, swoops and lifts over different vistas – including a river, the snowy mountains, the Napa Valley, Palm Springs, with all the gorgeous sensations of movement, speed, sights and smells.
Then we went on a ride called Test Track where you work as a team to design your own racing car and then test it out on an exciting rollercoaster style ride. Great fun. Here was our car:-

Even better was Spaceship Earth where you feel exactly like an astronaut would jetting off in a rocket and landing on Mars with important buttons to press depending on what role you have been given in your team. I did the Green version because I am a scaredy cat – which doesn’t include the cenrifugal forces that make your face wobble and make you feel marginally sick.
The Nemo ride was more my style, with a wonderful merge of real fish in the aquarium with Nemo and friends.
World Showcase is the other theme – Eleven nations surrounding World Showcase Lagoon. They had a great little ride which takes you back in time and through the ages, ending up in Space – which was most enjoyable – make sure you choose the right language though – we had Judy Dench talking but our friend forgot and had it all in Portuguese:-
Dinner was at Brown Derby where we had exceptionally good food and wine – lobster bisque, Cobb salad, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc..happy happy happy.

February 1, 2014I always wanted to visit Epcot when I was a child, so when we finally went to Orlando last year, I dragged the kids round every (yep, every!) pavilion! We had a ball, though our son got v v tired! We loved all the tech stuff and the kids really loved the rides, including Soarin’ and Test Track. My son (then 7) adored the Mission Space with the G Force (I am more of a scaredy cat than you, I didn’t go on either version), but my husband and daughter came off looking green…..He now wants to be an astronaut.

February 4, 2014OMG you’ve got a shot of my favourite bakery there – I’ve just written about it! I love the Brown Derby too – those cobb salads are amazing. I was nearly sick on Mission Space – all that centrifugal force – bleurgh!
