I’ve been extremely remiss in writing anything on my blog for ages now. Life is busy and whilst we all know no one is interested in what I’ve got to say, that’s never stopped me before, so I’m not sure what the absence really means. There’s been a lot of changes going on and clearly I’m in a slightly mad, chaotic transitional phase of life. Hopefully things will calm down in the next few months as I emerge with a concrete plan for what the next stage of my working life is going to look like. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, I guess another reason for not having much to say is that there are very few dramas to report. My kids are all happy and settled (well sort of) and my cat is finally out of his cone and after the longest course of antibiotics seems to have stopped self harming by licking himself to death.
My youngest son, who is living with me and earning a wage actually took me out for dinner when he got his pay cheque – that’s a first and was much appreciated. The fact that he’d run out of money by the end of the month became less of an issue because of it:-

I loved my day out with my oldest (most long-standing) friend to admire all the Chelsea Blooms. We did it on Day One, in the sunshine, before the deluge of rain hit the next few days and whilst the man outside Cartier was still smiling!

So this is just the briefest of updates in the calm before the storm. The usual crowd of us are heading to The Hay Festival tomorrow for our annual dose of brain fodder and loveliness AND JAMES BLUNT IS GOING TO BE THERE. I’m so excited.
Will report back with news soon!
