We stayed at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale – Troon North to be precise. Really the most splendid hotel and we positively squeaked with excitement. The rooms and the service and the general ambience of the place was just perfect and I’d highly recommend it. Not cheap, but if you can cope with the heat of the summer, then the prices are significantly reduced.
We were greeted with a complimentary bowl of tacos and a very cool way to serve the dip:-
I made myself one of my favourite drinks from the mini bar – how cool is this bottle of coke?
This was the lobby of the main building:-

This was our view from the terrace, sitting out waiting for the sunset that didn’t quite happen, but nevertheless a spectacular view and you can just see that the couple getting married down below thought the same:-
It was very dramatic, even if not as red as the night before:-
Then it turned into a black and white sunset, without me doing anything:-
Then we went on to have dinner in their bar:-
This is their dining room: Onyx:-
This was the view from the bar with the fabulous singer:-
and a delicious prickly pear margarita:-

Breakfast the next morning was in Proof, an American canteen, a relaxed restaurant that features home-style comfort fare sourced entirely from the 50 states. The decor draws upon the area’s history as a stagecoach hitching post and the frontier spirit of the Wild West with a railroad track running through the dining room:
The cowboy stack just had to be sampled:-
As did the blueberry and ricotta pancakes, but I’d recommend the stack:-
This breakfast smoothie was good:-
Not sure what the sweets behind were for:-
This is what Proof looked like at night where wobbled in for a late night burger after our hike:-
