I met a very talented young photographer and filmmaker called Ruaridh Mcintosh-Turner whilst we were holidaying on the island of Halki. He’s been coming to the island for nearly quarter of a century with his mother and has clearly enjoyed getting to know the locals over that time. He spent his days there taking portraits of the golden oldies of Halki, the fisherman, shopkeepers, taverna owners and workmen; all the true originals.
Looking into their eyes, I can only imagine the stories they could tell. You can almost read them via the lines in their faces. I’d love to go back and listen to what they have learnt about life:-
