HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY TO MY BROTHER!!
So my last significant happy birthday post to my baby brother was 10 years ago when he was 40. I was complaining about feeling old and found the ideal solution was to sit next to my mother instead of him. Now she’s not here anymore and neither is our 100 year old Grandmother. I am now officially the matriarch, which is terrifying!
Ten years on and a lot has changed for all of us, but he remains a wonderful, joyful person to be around – we always have a lot of fun together and he’s a great father to his two beautiful children.
A decade ago we had a lovely family evening where we all amassed from differing parts of the country to celebrate his birthday and my youngest made a splendid cake:-
Now he’s turned 50 and I can’t quite believe it. We had some significant family members to miss (namely both parents) but we managed to put on a great party for him, together with friends and by throwing an excellent cocktail maker into the mix, it turned out to be a perfect, messy, dance aroundy family party.
