“I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here” is just about to start again, but honestly I think most of us would prefer to be in the Australian jungle with real creepy crawlies, than in the UK pre-election right now. “I’m A Voter Get Me Out Of Here” pretty much sums up the way I’m feeling about the whole sorry situation and I think each and every one of us should be paid huge sums of money to stay on the island whilst our mental health is messed with. I am beginning to feel anxious every time I put the radio on.
We have our very own island hell to get through for the next month. A high stake “People Vs Parliament” gamble that none of us asked for.
We will be tested to the limits and it is already a nightmare and Christmas is all but ruined:-
Would you rather:
A) Vote for Boris Johnson
B) Vote for Jeremy Corbyn
C) Lie naked in a sealed box full of rats
Would you rather:
A) Do
B) Die
C) Lie in a ditch being eaten by crocodiles
Would you rather:
A) Get Brexit done
B) Eat an eyeball
C) Have supper with Jacob Rees-Mogg
I truly feel sorry for us all. It is spectacularly difficult to remain focused on the news anymore. We are exhausted. Depleted. Diminished. We have another month to fall out even more with family and friends, to be bombarded with party political broadcasts, NHS waiting list stats, immigration stats, Russian intervention, the environment and the Greta Factor, fake news, real news, meme’s, debates, tactical voting, doorstep conversations, hung parliaments, no deals, January is the new October. AAAAGGGHHHHH.
Should we vote for the least popular opposition leader in history or a man that no woman trusts, not just because of rumours of groping, affairs and pole dancing but because of his wild west, shoot from the hip style of leadership.
It’s unlikely that Brexit will merely be “the spine” of this election and naturally drop down to it’s natural place as the other key issues, crime, health, security etc rise to the surface. It is going to be the heart and soul of this election and that is frankly a disgrace. We are going to be forced to vote tactically depending on whether we want to remain or leave and this is quite possibly going to leave us with a hung parliament coalition of labour, Liberal Democrats and the SNP if he fails to secure a commons majority which might mean Article 50 is immediately revoked but might also mean a second referendum and an ongoing lack of direction that is calamitous for business and our society in general.
“Don’t Give Up” says Donald Tusk and I agree with him, but it’s not easy! We may be in extra time with penalties to follow, but will Boris Johnson deliver an own goal?
