Had lovely Christmas party at a friends house last night. I did get stuck for about two hours with a very pissed woman who was advising me not to ever think that my husband would come back, that all my friends were horrid for going to my ex’s party but even more horrid for telling me. I don’t agree with that – I would MUCH rather know than not know…its very interesting, I find, just how big the divide is. There are those people in the world that want to know everything and those that don’t. “Ignorance is bliss”. I never did understand that statement. Anyway, I finally got away with the help of my friends only to leave her with a man. Within one minute he said to her “you are talking complete rubbish, you’re completely pissed” and walked away. Sometimes, I really wish I was a man.

I was slightly traumatised to find that even more of my friends than I thought are going to my ex’s drinks party – one of my best friends was positively squirming when I said “I wonder who else is going”….she said she was too scared to tell me!! It doesn’t matter and I know she’ll be reading this – I do still love you…just don’t be surprised when I turn up on the doorstep to sing Christmas carols. That is the downside of having a personality like mine. I am always the one to leave the restaurant or the party last – I can’t bear the thought of missing out on things – even my ex husbands drinks party. How childish is that?

To add to my sorrows all my friends pointed out that my fringe (badly cut yesterday by hairdresser with alopecia) was too short and that the only solution was to stay in bed for the next two weeks until it grew back.

So, I did what anybody else would do in my situation. Drank too much and rather embarrassingly, I seem to recall doing the Teapot dance on my way out.

Oh dear (and no, I can’t help you, I don’t know what the Teapot dance is either).

Life is so funny. I stumbled onto your blog and really have read a lot about you. I see myself in you and your personality.

I feel the same way about my ex. I don’t want my friends to pick sides and I don’t think they should have to.

Most importantly, I would want to be at the party to just because, I would want to know WHAT HAPPENED cause I’m a nosey brat like that.

Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
