WE ARE HERE!! Not much to report other than a little swelling and jet lag. Even my gorgeous daughter was horrified that she had appeared to have grown “cankles” overnight on the plane – complaining that little bits of skin were oozing through her lace espadrilles as she walked. I on the other hand almost needed a wheelbarrow to carry the excess loads of flesh attached to my ankles and feet at the end of a 12 hour plane journey.
Having said that, for an economy flight we were very comfortable – big plane with bigger seats than I’m used to. Nothing to report so far. We arrived via Singapore in Kuching after dark, got to our hotel, had a quick bite to eat, went out to walk along the river, got absolutely drenched within 30 seconds of the torrential rain starting and ran back to our hotel looking like drowned rats.
You can tell we’re in the tropics.
Anyway, we are off on a big adventure today so more to report later!

October 30, 2012The world feels as if it’s getting smaller. I used to baulk at the idea of a 12-hour flight but now it doesn’t seem so long… You should have done some yoga and/or Pilates classes in the aisle! I often wonder why planes don’t do that – wouldn’t it be great? Half the plane could do the class while the other half stretched out with a bit more space. Smart idea, huh?
Feeling cheered that it’s raining.
Also aware that I’ve been reading your posts backwards! But I started with the most recent and got hooked. Looking forward to the next instalment. 🙂
