I feel as if I’m on borrowed time. I managed to get the day off work today so that I could spend time with my mother and my daughter at one of my favourite spots in the whole wide world. I know I am behaving as if my daughter has a one way ticket to the moon – it’s not as if I won’t see her regularly, but nevertheless, this leaving for university business still feels like a significant milestone. She is properly leaving home. Maybe forever, maybe not. In this current climate, I imagine probably not, but who knows? And if she does have to come back because she hasn’t got a job and can’t afford to live elsewhere then the dynamics are inevitably going to be very very different.
ANYWAY, for now, we had a marvellous lunch at The Petersham Nurseries in, funnily enough Petersham. The restaurant is very pricey indeed, but the cafe food is very good and not too expensive and just SOOO beautiful and uplifting.

and home, before the real countdown begins…ONLY THREE MORE DAYS TO GO!!! We have bought the required items and more. Seems one of the most important things is a mattress topper in case you were wondering….

September 22, 2014Our first born duly delivered to Newcastle, with mattress topper, so feeling as if I have done something right!! Hope you are OK and made it back to London in one piece – I am sure they will all be fine and it is just us who will have trouble surviving without them- everything is going to be so quiet and tidy! Your blog continues to make me laugh, lots of it being so easy to empathise with. Glad kids had happy times before venturing off on to the next phase of life x
