My recycling box of empty bottles runneth over – speaking volumes about how Christmas Day panned out in our house.
We had a lovely day full of fun, food, festivities, f*cking awful singing (mostly by Brother No.1 who is frankly the worst singer I have ever heard, followed by me) , friends, frolics and FAR too much to drink and family, family, family. Just brilliant – especially this year after my father has been so ill to all be together and thankful, simply for that. The meal worked. My new sister in law said it was the first time she had tasted moist turkey! That was on account of the bloody size of it – could hardly fit in the oven. Legs looked like the normal sized chicken we’d eat – it would have been impossible to dry that meat out unless I had left it cooking in the oven for three days.
I am now listening to my new Paolo Nutini CD, watching my niece make a pink balloon snake and my son dance about wearing new cool checked shirt. Daughter is attempting to make a friendship bracelet unsuccessfully, brother is trying to pretend he’s not horribly hungover, sister in law helping me with happy mess, teenage son still in bed and the sun is shining.
Hope you all had a lovely day x

December 26, 2009The Ball & Chain (going through a mid-life crisis we have deduced) cooked our entire meal. He brines the turkey overnight which makes THE tenderest turkey meat you’ve ever tasted. Not that I don’t believe yours wasn’t though.

December 27, 2009If your husband’s midlife crisis consists of cooking your entire meal then just go with it – I’ve heard worse!! Good for him – does that mean he floats it in the sea overnight? Lx
Yogi
December 27, 2009Wow, sounds like a grand Christmas to me!
Thanks for visiting. I’m not a real Yogi. A popular cartoon her in the USA when I was growing up was Yogi and Boo Boo about a couple of bears in “Jellystone National Park.” Somehow my older brother’s nickname was Yogi and mine was Boo Boo. So I’ve absconded with his nickname. I never did like being Boo Boo.

December 28, 2009NOT a YOGI!! Yes, we do know Yogi and Boo Boo…..used to love it. Thanks for clearing up the problem – I see you’re a crusty gas guy, not a yogi! Lx

December 28, 2009Glad you had a good day. Ours wasn’t too bad – just had to cook an entire Christmas lunch for five in an unfamiliar kitchen with one square foot of preparation space. Also every two minute job needed half-an hour’s locating the gadget first. Stressful? Ermmm …..
