Took my 18 year old Australian guest to see “New Year’s Eve” last night on the recommendation of my 16 year old daughter. I was massively disappointed. For a star studded cast, not only did they all look awful, their lines were stilted, it was predictable, over complicated and spectacularly unfunny.
Such a shame – it was a good concept and some of the disparate character combinations I had high hopes for….but it all fell flat. Michelle Pfeiffer lost her Pfeiff – but that clearly wasn’t her fault – the older repressed woman/younger man combo is hugely appealing (to me, obv) but it was all so…just not quite right.
Shame.
The clothes were awful too. Everybody in the wrong outfit. Hair. Faces. Everything.
Sorry.
I didn’t mind watching it, it’s just that there was so much room for improvement it was ridiculous.
