NEW YORK

Just a brief update to let you all know that I am off to NEW YORK very early tomorrow morning. So excited. I have never been. Have got two days of shopping to do for everybody else. My children have handed me an A4 length list of items to purchase from Abercrombie and Fitch which I am concerned about, because apparently it is immensely dark in there and I’m never going to find anything. Got to buy 25 ipods and 15 Tiffany items. Will never get through customs. I’m going with a girlfriend whose sister has an exhibition on at the Guggenheim museum. Not sure how we are going to fit everything in

Central Park (brief thought about taking trainers and going for a run, dismissed as ridiculous idea almost immediately)

7 Jeans (an essential for all women of a certain age as makes your arse look fantastic)

Obviously organising the children whilst I am away has been challenging. My ex is having them for the weekend, but tonight and Sunday night they have to be elsewhere. My six year old doesn’t cope terribly well with the thought of me being away, but thankfully he’s staying with a friend tonight, which means he’s very excited at the prospect of a sleepover on a school night.

Went to the bookshop yesterday at his request. He went straight up to the desk and asked if they had any books on Van Gogh! He’s gone to the National Gallery today with his class to draw sunflowers. I told him I had an art book in storage, so we settled for “Captain Underpants”.
