It is probably not a good sign when your hairdresser gives you a Berocca vitamin drink instead of a cup of coffee because you are so hungover you can barely speak.

I don’t actually know how that happened. I’d just popped out last night for a quick drink with three girlfriends. I was going to be home early because I am still feeling rubbish from my dizzy thing (and my doctor had failed to improve the situation earlier in the day by doing very strange head movements). What must have happened at the pub was that my dizzy thing segued effortlessly into a slightly pissed thing until I was feeling absolutely fantastic. Being Hilarious. Finding everybody else hilarious. Usual stuff. Loved my friends more than anything. Without realising we were in a lock-in we staggered home at 1am! How did that happen? Who let us stay in the pub drinking for two more hours? Why weren’t we kicked out at closing time?

Now I feel rubbish.

Really rubbish.

Not even the Berocca touched the sides this time.

But nevermind. It was still worth it. Just a lovely night out with lots of old friends.

My son is, at this very minute, navigating his first matinee of “Little Shop of Horrors” at Birmingham Rep with a massive hangover. Ah, the life of the thesp. I’m still on the bloody wagon, so have one for me next time.

Oh good grief – that must be hard for him – although he’s young enough to cope! Lx
