Christmas is a time to celebrate delicious and indulgent food and at Rathfinny the team will be serving up festive lunches and a five course set menu, consisting of dishes from land, sea and garden, in the newly opened Tasting Room. Renowned for his seasonal British cuisine, chef Chris Bailey is leading the team on-site to present mouth-watering dishes, paired with sensational Sussex wines using local produce. Dishes range from smoked duck, sea trout and salsify tempura with winter truffle, to brandy butter ice cream, Christmaspudding and gingerbread.
Wine tastings at Rathfinny’s Cellar Door
The Cellar Door is also open for passers-by to drop in for a yuletide tasting. Whether it be the Cradle Valley still wine, Seven Sisters Gin, or the new Seven Sisters Vermouth, launching this December, there is something for everyone. Merchandise can also be purchased from the Cellar Door at the entrance to the Winery. Following the release of its first Sparkling wines this April, you can also purchase a glass of Sussex in Rathfinny’s Tasting Room.
Stay overnight in Rathfinny’s Flint Barns

The gin is distilled in a two-stage process, first by drawing the richest flavours from the remaining wines and then distilling the neutral grain spirit, which are blended with botanicals. It is also rich in juniper and citrus, with the wine providing complex fruit aromas giving the spirit depth. Subtle floral and savoury notes from the Angelica seed and Hyssop tie the layers together. Made with care, this gin is one to sip and share throughout the party season.
