So not really sure we’ve got on to a better footing this week with my children. They are all too independent these days and I can’t cope….and I’ve been busy which means that getting together has been more difficult than usual.
FIRSTBORN
Big son is relaxing. I know this because we have “Friends” constantly playing on the TV – even if he goes out it seems to stay on. At least, if all else fails he can tour the country joining in pub quiz nights based on Friends – he must literally know everything there is to know about them and would clean up.
I’m letting him relax though – he got a 2:1!! Woohoo!! He has a science degree. How clever is he. Now he just needs to convert all that hard work into a job. Easier said than done.
DAUGHTER
She is miserable. She has a temporary job. The shifts are from 8am until 10.30pm with an hour’s break for lunch. She is cleaning chairs and sweeping floors at one of Britain’s most glamorous events. She is hating every minute. It’s very hard work. Good for her to do some manual labour, but is that legal? To work that many hours with not more than one break in one go?
YOUNGEST BUT BIGGEST SON
Sigh. How do you get a nearly 15 year old boy to do anything you want them to? Should bribery ever be an option? That might be better than tying him to his bed or locking him in his bedroom to keep him at home.
