I met Sarah Tucker the other day – she’s a friend of a friend and was hugely impressed with her latest venture. She is the author of a number of books including the best selling novel THE PLAYGROUND MAFIA and she has brought out a very cool new app for the iphone and ipad called “The Mummy Mafia” which no mother should be without when the school term starts in September. It tells you how to deal with playground politics and is a mix of common sense and practical advice on how to deal with hippies (High Impact Parents) who create more trouble for the teachers than their children do.
It’s a guide on how to recognise mafia and the games they play, how to avoid becoming one (more difficult than you think) and how to deal with mafia when confronted by their antics.
WHAT SORT OF MOTHER ARE YOU? You can find out with ‘mummy mafia’ app. It will be of use to all first time mothers to the playground as well as those who’ve experienced the highs and lows of over competitive parents. It will help mothers know which types to avoid and how to deal with them when you find yourself unable to.
There are eight ‘mummy ‘ types including chummy, ommmi, plummy, yummy, scummy, schtummy, sweaty betties and crummy mummies – and the questions have been devised based on research over the past year of parent teacher associations throughout the country.
The App costs 59p to download and by answering questions, you will be able to identify what type of mother you are, how to deal with the mafia when you meet them, and how to stop yourself from becoming mafia.
The App was created by App Developers UK, part of the TMTI Group of companies. Spokeperson, George Thomas said “The Playground Mafia was a fantastic App to build, we thorougly enjoyed developing it. It was interesting and eye opening learning about the different ‘Mummies’ out there. The testing process was like no other, trying it out on a variety of celebrity mothers from around the country.”
