None of the kitchen cabinets fit the allotted space and the fridge is too tall. Both the kitchen fitter and the supplier commented on how calm I seemed to be about the total mess – frankly I really can’t be bothered to get stressed about it. Life is too short to worry about kitchen cabinet’s in my opinion. I have had my share of worrying about material items – we moved so many times when we were married and look where it got me…so there is no point. Actually, it works quite well, because if I don’t panic, it seems somebody else does for me – the poor kitchen fitter was freaking out on my behalf, suggesting I demand money back, shout a lot, cry, whatever it takes to get the right things delivered. But I think I’ll leave that to him.
On arrival this morning at my ex’s house it wasn’t particularly calm. My 7 year old was in tears because the 14 year old had punched him because he’d put his mouth guard in whilst eating his cereal, which meant the 14 year old had to wash out little bits of oats. My 11 year old daughter was hysterical because she couldn’t find her Latin book (she got 1 out of 12 for her test today) and consequently also hit my 7 year old because apparently he laughed.
I then had to test my 7 year old on his homework. He’d been asked to learn about 10 European capital cities. “Shall we go through them again?” I suggested. “I can’t be bothered, this isn’t my homework time”, he said. When prompted, I got the following answers:-
“what is the capital of England?” “Don’t know”.
“The capital of Paris?” “Rome”.
“The capital of Poland?” “Woolworths”.
So not great.
