Sorry, I’m having an annoyingly prolific blogging day. Daughter home sick. I’ve been to see my friend with two broken legs again. She’s very cheerful. Even offering to cook a group of us dinner later in the week. I’ve told her I cannot possibly accept a meal from someone with no legs – she’s got a very funky wheelchair and is beginning to get over the misery of it all – “you just have to get on with it” is her lovely attitude to life – she said that it had made her appreciate all sorts of things more. She’s amazed though at how many people have arrived on the doorstep with pies – like in some American film.

She mentioned that she was worried about her weight going up hugely, so I have tried to suggest some exercises for her and will help her once she can walk again.

Hello again. Sorry to hear your daughter’s ill, and about your friend’s leg situation. How awful!! But it’s nice to see you’ve been so blog-tastically prolific today. When my mother-in-law was diagnosed sick, a neighbour brought round a huge tray of chicken in gravy with stuffing and potatoes, for the family’s dinner. It was so thoughtful, and now I always try to commiserate with food.
