I feel sick. I’ve just come back from a Windows Live bloggers meeting held at The Ritz. I was invited to enter a discussion about how to improve our work/life balance. I don’t think I added any value. I just ate all the cakes. And all the sandwiches. And all the scones. I even filled a huge box with spare beautifully crafted cakes and carried them all the way home. So I’m still eating them. My kids better hurry up and find them before they’ve all gone.
They were keen to know my views on the amount of access that children have to online material. I didn’t like to tell them that my youngest child had recently been banned from Club Penguin for swearing but I did mention that it was my children who were more concerned about all these imaginary friends I keep going off to meet than the other way around.
It was interesting. Listening to some of the new products coming onto the market and meeting some other bloggers and editors. There were a few no-shows which was disapppointing. I was looking forward to meeting some people I know in cyberworld in the flesh. Oh well. Another time.
Even if I do feel sick.

March 23, 2010I so would have wanted to be there. For the cakes, scones, sandwiches, you name it. Really the most appropriate place to hold meetings. Especially given your affinity for the place. It was definitely a “meant to be” kind of situation. I once worked at a tea room in fancy boutique-hotel. I loved the food to pieces. I did mostly pay attention to the food, which didn’t go unnoticed, since I got let go after a few months for my lack of attention to the customers.
