It’s very early on Sunday morning. I’m going away for a few days with the kids to stay with some friends. Leaving in 10 minutes and not very ready….

A brief update though, before I go:-

My son left yesterday afternoon with 49 other boys (pity the poor teachers/other passengers on the plane) on his rugby tour. He was super-excited….slightly manic and really worried about his packing. This morning, over breakfast he started shouting “OOOOOOWWWWW MUM DON’T DO THAT!” really loudly just at the back door – thinking it might be funny if the neighbours thought I was hurting him….really embarrassing because my youngest child thought it was hilarious so he didn’t stop for ages “OOOOOWWWW PLEASE STOP!!” and stuff like that for ages. Ha bloody ha when social services arrest me.

In amongst all of this hilarity I was on the phone trying to speak to my bank about fraudulent transactions. I opened my last statement AND FREAKED OUT. There was a lot of stuff I didn’t recognise at all and SO much money spent it was ridiculous. I checked it against dates. I definitely wasn’t in that area on that particular day, spending a fortune. I called them. “I’m afraid somebody has a copy of my card, or my card number – I don’t recognise 50% of my expenses and the worst thing is “THEY CLEARLY KNOW WHERE I SHOP”. I told them there was no way I could have spent so much money last month and not remembered….”so, madam, are you saying that you recognise all the shops where the card has been used, but it wasn’t you that used the card?”. I confirmed this to be the case but even as I opened my mouth I began to realise that something wasn’t right….and by the end of the conversation I was saying ” actually, I think I do remember buying that, perhaps what I should do is have another look just to be really sure about which ones are fraudulent and call you back” thinking “f*ck, how embarrassing….”.

My daughter has fully recovered from suspected swine flu and a few friends came round to see her today. Apparently she was the talk of the town….with everybody REALLY worried about her – she got some “Get Well Soon” cards and presents, with some slightly ominous messages:-

Do you think it’s maybe time the government did something about the mad panic the general public have gone into and stop the press from all their scaremongering?

I LOVE BB. Can you give him a high five from me, please.

I like the sound of BB. He sounds like a man of morals and he was right not to shake his hand. It shows he is not a hypocrite.

Have a great time on your little trip

    xx

Good for him actually. Although it will make "her" quite happy don't you think?

BB is such a silly bugger. If he pasted on a smile and told them how happy he was for them, the relationship would have to stand on it's own two feet instead of feeding off his anger.

    But that's men for you.

    Testosterone rules.

    Have fun on your break.

Have fun on your mini holiday.

The story about your son (aka abuse victim) reminded me of a friend who took her four beautiful daughters out to a charity picnic. They all sat on the lawn, pretty as a picture. Two old dears wandered past and smiled benignly at the delightful family scene. Whereupon, the second daughter glared at her mother (apropos nothing) and said "Don't treat ME like THAT" and eldest weighed in with "Yes, you know your not our REAL mother". My friend, who is a plaster saint resisted the temptation to slap them or burst into tears.

Glad your daughter no longer has the oink.
