The Reformer Machine

The Reformer machine was originally designed by Joseph Pilates using rudimentary materials such as bed springs to help add a level of resistance to the exercises.

Since then the machine has been redesigned and perfected to offer so many more options and alternatives to exercises that a mat simply wouldn’t allow – the machine is used to help support the body further and the results can be phenomenal.  It can help intensify exercises by increasing the resistance, but it can also ease exercises by providing support through resistance.

The C8-Pro Pilates Reformer is an amazing piece of apparatus which can help you find length and space in the body whilst under spring tension. It’s a low impact, mind-body discipline, allowing for a more dynamic, supportive and/or targeted workout. All the exercises can be progressed or modified according to the individual needs. This will enable you to be challenged, thus strengthening you in multiple ways and setting you up to achieve your fitness goals.

In my studio I can offer a full body work-out on a one-to-one basis (but can also work with two people in the class together).  I can help you change your body by strengthening key muscles, allowing your body to become more sculpted, flexible and realigned.  It will also help with improved co-ordination and balance.

As an older teacher, I understand that this form of exercise can be daunting, especially if you have injuries.  However, with my years of experience, (especially working with those who have back pain and other injuries) I can help you improve your body by developing your deeper core muscles to build up strength and flexibility, which will ultimately lead to a more pain free life in general!

Tower Pilates

The Tower is attached as a fixed vertical frame to the Reformer machine and offers a huge amount of additional repertoire using spring tensions in different ways to provide resistance.

It can also provide great relief by offering extremely good back stretches.  By working with a combination of Tower, Reformer and Mat Pilates you will experience the greatest benefits.
