I was sent a new game to review – quite unintentionally it has become my university based son’s “best new drinking game” of choice. It’s called “Accentuate” and the aim of the game is to take a card and read a quote in a particular accent – ranging from Jamaican, to Egyptian, to Geordie. It’s virtually impossible to read Shakespeare out loud in my own accent, let alone in a Russian accent and as I’m sure you can imagine, after a few drinks it becomes hilarious listening to players attempt to do so. You don’t have to involve alcohol to enjoy it – I’m sure it would be a welcome contribution to the Christmas festivities for families around the world, but this is just one way to enjoy it…
My son has given me a very brief overview (although what he’s doing going to dinner parties at his age, I still don’t know – apart from that they save loads of money on meals out:-
“Very fun dinner party game! Played it twice now and it’s very entertaining. We changed the rules a bit to accommodate some drinking rules and to make it a bit more challenging, which made it even more interesting and overall everyone loved it. We now take it to every dinner party we go to! 8/10 x
