I have one of those days today that I feel I should marginally show off about – but I’m not sure why because it’s probably not going to work. I’ll be running from place to place. Nevermind. Lots of people do this sort of thing all the time:-

8.30am Meet Learning support teacher for maths to discuss progress

9.30am Start of Sports Day. Find 10 y/o and watch him perform in Shot Putt (have to miss cricket ball throwing)

10.00am Rush to teach my class and attempt to be the epitome of calm

11.30am Buy substantial picnic so as child not embarrassed by sausage rolls Vs homemade houmous

11.45am Try and get back to watch egg and spoon race but avoid parents race AT ALL COSTS. Must remember to limp

12.00 Picnic lunch with child in the rain

1.00pm Hope allowed to leave. Need to go and find something to wear for DOWNING STREET and wash hair

3.00pm Back to sports day in hair rollers and stilletos for presentation

4.00pm Hopefully all over, drop child at home, find 18 year old to look after him briefly before he is going to a friends and then run to station

5.30pm Reception at Downing Street for the “My Way Awards” hopefully not still wearing trainers and try not to get over excited about meeting either The Fonz or Francis Osbourne.

Food for all the children for supper! Shit. Add to Picnic shopping list. Key somewhere. Daughter getting home? WTF am I going to wear to Downing Street????? Dress? Haven’t got one that doesn’t require huge pants. WHERE R THOSE SPANKS. Think daughter stolen them. Too late. Will have to hang loose. Can I wear my leather jacket to attract The Fonz? Don’t be ridiculous.

Ok you win, that’s a ridiculous amount to do in one day

Best of luck at Downing Street tonight and please give The Fonz a hug from me

I wouldn’t underestimate that leather jacket – great color.
