OK BUDDHIST MOMENT of a few days ago completely over. What was I thinking? Children are not our meditation – more like our medication…. I need Prozac or painkillers or something to take the edge off an immensely frustrating half term.
I had planned to take my youngest son fishing – or more precisely I had planned to pay somebody else to take my youngest son fishing because I hate fishing about as much as I hate cricket – but it can’t be done – health and safety reasons require that a parent or guardian sit on the bloody bank with above mentioned child and freeze to death and/or die of boredom.
SO. I have been suggesting to my son all week things to do – museums, art galleries, aquarium? Zoo? Chessington? Pottery? ANYTHING????? But no. He’s been there, done it all already or doesn’t want to do it. We are living in London and we can’t think of anything to do. HOW rubbish is that?
I need to compile a TOP 10 things to do in London that don’t involve all the usual tourist spots. HEEEELLLLPPPP.

hi there, l havent been around for a while…(whiplash, slipdisk, nerve trapped) and havent had the heart to write much on FFF or alice..
sad to hear about BB…gosh hope it wasnt too horrendous, though prob was…
nice to read you though, do take care…l’m licking my wounds also…but I made a knee jerk decision and am instantly regretting it, as my son told me ‘you are a dick mum, everyones scared…why miss out on happiness, cos youre scared and misread every signal..?’ DOH!!
lotsa luv Alice (saz)
I’ve got my son saying the same thing – and maybe they’re right……this time though I’ve decided not to let my children influence my decision – I am supposed to be the grown up! Anyway, it’s all about what you are prepared to put up with!! SO good to hear from you Lx
He’s probably too old to be interested but the Ecology Centre at Holland Park does half term activities that cost next to nothing… Best of luck, in any case!
Thanks – will check that out x
RTFM did a ‘graffitti tour’ a while back – now I thought that sounded very cool.

If you haven’t done the Imperial War Museum (free) my kids (including 15 year old and 8 year old males at the time) thought it was very cool.
Hi! Wish you could send him along here for a bit of fishing on the Chobe river! Any excuse here.. and the weather is hot hot hot! Good luck with finding an activity!
I really enjoyed your previous post about Miss MoneyPenny – really excellent!
Oh he would love that x
are there cookery schools or classes for kids? this way you get fed at the end too so you get some money back from the investment.
That is such a good idea for him – his favourite occupation Lx
