This is most troubling. IS IT THE YEAR OF THE GOAT< SHEEP OR RAM?? Apparently because there is no differentiation in Mandarin between a sheep and a goat they have gone this time round for a sheep. REALLY?? Don’t you understand how different these two characters are? That practically ruins the notes I’ve written….
It’s Chinese New Year in a few days, wish I was back in Hong Kong to celebrate. I can hear the firecrackers popping all around the island – see the red Lai chi (sp) envelopes with crisp new notes in them. Once I was even part of a dragon dance – under the big head, dancing and winding around the streets. Those were the days.
