My son is very keen to write about his holiday and given that we were on a Family bloggers trip, I think it is appropriate that he gives his opinion on what is available in Costa Brava for children. So here is his first entry regarding Day 1 and 2:-
We have just come back from my amazing holiday, and just wanted to say thank you very much for inviting me and my mum to Costa Brava. I really was not expecting so many activities in one area that I would actually like for my age! The first place we went to was Girona city where we had a deliciously filling lunch. We then had a look around the city where we saw the old Jewish quarter. After we had a look around we got in a car and made our way to a very nice modern camping and bungalow park called La Belena Alegre in Sant Pere Pescador.
We got in our little bungalow and of course my mum went straight on her laptop as per usual. Whereas I of course wanted to go have a look around , so i went outside with my football in the rain and I discovered that it was a very friendly environment for kids. It was a very unusual building we were in but very comfortable inside with it’s own kitchen:-
A few hours later we started to get ready for dinner – we had this dinner at the bungalow park so it was a nice easy walk for my mum who stupidly decided to where her high heels! i then realised why my mum has named herself “a lifestyle blogger”.
The next day we woke up at around 8.30 it was a very nice breakfast with a lovely surrounding and a good view of the sea and the pool!
We then made our way by mini-bus to the glass bottom boat which was at L’Estartit. I was looking forward to the glass bottom boat to Medes islands very much not knowing that I sometimes get a bit sea sick however I had an amazing time looking at all of the fish and we even got to see an Octopus.
A photographer took our photo when we got on the boat and then when we got off he offered us a photo and a plate – my mum didn’t really want to buy it but then she said she would because nobody else would want it. We gave it to my sister as a joke present:-
There is also a sailing school there and jet ski’s and we spent some time lookin for crabs:-

When we got off the boat they took us across the road to a very nice looking restaurant it had delicious starters and a fantastic mixed paella for main:-
When everyone was full we got on the mini-bus and they drove us to a pottery where we got to paint out own pots and make some out of clay using the wheel but we did not get to paint the ones we made because they said it takes very long to harden which i don’t really believe i think that our pots just weren’t good enough, we also seemed to be famous because a news reporter came to interview my mum whilst she was trying to make a pot which luckily i was in saying “yeah”.
After we had painted the pots and the man put them in the kiln we got to take them back with us!
annoyingly i have to go do my homework now so i will tell u about dinner tomorrow !!

June 4, 2013Harry you took me right there with you. Well written and comprehensive post. It could provide welcome ressasurance to other teenagers facing a week in the sun with their parents, as well as an idea to suggest for a family friendly destination.
And oh the joys and frustrations of travelling with a walking lifestyle! When you mum is next out at the spa or buying pine nuts for her salad, secretly swap her high heels for flipflops ( Birkenstock not Primark!)

I got really intrigued by the paella – it must have been great, if he said it was. In many places of the world they serve what they call “paella”, but it is nothing like the real thing.
