Why do I appear to be the only one I know who has a male cat with cystitis? I didn’t know cats got cystitis. How ridiculous. The vet said that cats are the only mammals who can get cystitis as a result of stress – I didn’t know that either. Well, then I blame the bloody fox at the bottom of the garden who terrorises him – at least I hope it’s the fox rather than a dysfunctional house full of weirdos shouting about tattoos et al. We have a cupboard full of medicines that have to be crushed up, sprinkled on, mixed in and then thrown up by above mentioned cat. How tedious. Luckily my daughter doesn’t appear to trust me to get all the measurements right so appears to have taken control.
Why do I appear to be the last one to know about my teenage son’s latest tattoo? He showed me last night. It is truly horrible. He has a large “K” below his left buttock, chosen “because he likes K cider” and I pointed out that it would be like me getting “Baby Cham” tattooed on my arse and then regretting it a few years later when I moved on to “Lambrusco” followed by “Blue Nun” followed by “Dubonnet and Lemonade”. He is SO going to regret that decision and when I complained about it, the other two children said they had known for ages that he had been planning it because tattoo parlours kept coming up on the computer. How did I miss that? Could I have done anything to stop it? Do I care enough to make a huge fuss? Is this a pick your battles moment? He’s 18 now. I’d rather concentrate on getting him to work for his exams. Even if he now can’t sit down on it because he’s got a stupid sore red arse. Now he’s going to have to marry someone whose initial is “K” – like Keira Knightly – at least if he ever gets the chance to meet her he can show her his arse and pretend it was all done for her.
Why do I appear to be the only one not going away for Easter? Staying around so that teen son can be fed and watered during his revision and not use my house as party central for a minute. Very boring though. Got nothing to do. Bored. Bored. Bored. Gorgeous weather though. Suppose I should do some gardening. Or maybe just sitting. In the garden.

April 10, 2011Staying home, as well. Just imagine all those bods jammed on motor ways, stuck in yucky airport lounges or in planes on the tarmac with blocked loos. Lovely empty roads, loads of parking, Richmond Park or the garden, sunny and enticing, a boat on the Thames. A chilled glass of Vouvray as the sun settles in the west!! Sorry about the tattoo. I hate them too. Our youngest has had his for years. I am told they are brilliant. Can’t quite see it myself. Ah! Well! xx
Pampered Cat Care
May 14, 2011Do you think pampered cats are more likely to catch diseases? Some people think so but I can’t see the basis for it. I would think pampered pets may in fact have better health. What do you think?
