I have just come back from the most splendid weekend in Paris with a girlfriend to visit her daughter who is currently living there. It was absolutely freezing – snowing, mostly, but we walked everywhere and did loads of things.
One of the best exhibitions I’ve ever seen is currently on at the Pompidou Centre – a Salvador Dali exhibition. It’s HUGE. I had no idea he was so prolific. I had no idea my favourite picture of his (the warped time one) was so small, or that he was so talented and so mad on every other level. Vast paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations, film, photos, you name it, he’s done it.
I haven’t got the blurb in front of me – I can’t give you any intelligent facts. I don’t even know when it is on until – so make sure you check. But I’m going to go to his house next across the border in somewhere beginning with “F” (you see what happens when I start a full time job? No time to do my research. Sorry).
I advise you to get there early – the queues were massive. It appeals to all ages – his obsession with breasts and genitals ensures that even several young troups of boys were held captivated by the guide talking about the picture.
