I have been invited to take part in a campaign, The Most Wanted ‘A Day in a Dress’ Challenge. In the run-up to the Christmas party season, they have asked bloggers from around the UK to wear a party dress for the day, whilst carrying out their normal daily tasks.
The challenge was to test out whether my chosen high street dress would stand up to hours of “drinking, dancing and excitement”. I was asked to choose a dress from Marks and Spencer’s which I loved and it’s very good value for £65.00. It was a little too big for me around the waistline but I guess I can sort that, but apart from that, having put it through it’s paces I was very happy with it. Given that I had to do some teaching in it and cook supper in it and wander down the road in it I got a lot of compliments (probably because I am normally seen wearing jeans and trainers around and about). It was very comfortable to wear and not TOO over the top.
Here I am in the morning then, attempting to teaching my class:-
Then later a friend suggested I took the dress of for a dog walk to give it another look. Given that I don’t own a pair of wellies, let alone a dog, this isn’t the most natural look for me…..but still…that’s what they would have done for the Boden catalogue, so we had a go:-
Here I am back at home later at my desk:-
And here is the dress proudly presenting the most revolting looking supper for my children – good grief, you’d think I could do better for a photo shoot!:-
Shortly after supper we were expecting a visit from the police to take the statement from my son – I was a little worried about looking a little over-dressed for their visit so was very pleased when they had to postpone until this morning!
