My poor daughter – I picked her up last night after her Duke of Edinburgh weekend and I’ve never seen anyone so dead on their feet before. She could barely walk. Was so tired she was almost in tears. Surprisingly she has blisters on her shoulders instead of her feet – from carrying her 4 ton rucksack for 35 miles. Of course that was apparently my fault for buying a rucksack without much padding and of course it wasn’t my fault that I had invested in boots that properly fitted her so that she had minimal blisters on her feet. She was cross that she had been put in a group of mostly boys that wanted to run everywhere in order to win. Cross that she’d had no sleep. Cross that she had been freezing. Cross. About. Everything.
Close up of her shoulder blisters which look very sore:-

oh ouch, poor poor child, I hope some sleep and some warm mothering bring her around to telling you something worthwhile about her experience. There will be something good come from it! (even if it’s that she doesn’t want to do it ever again!!)
oweeeee! shame man! my first born is off up mt. meru next week…second born is off white water rafting in kenya next week too….gad….so lots of backpacks and trekking boot stuff going on this side too…oh and love ya too darlin’! xxx j
Make sure you INVEST your life savings in a back pack with padding. Lx
Aaah, never mind! If her feet had hurt, it would have been your fault, too. Mothers are always blamed, instead of the child asking her friends BEFORE such an event what was important to think of. Mothers ought to know EVERYTHING!
So whistle and look out of the window. She`ll recover and have a good tale to tell!
Hi! Awful looking blisters, and of course it’s All Your Fault! I hope that she is feeling much better by now after some rest and TLC!
PS saw your question on my old blogpost – our friend from UK visiting isn’t same person you are thinking of, but how crazy would that have been???
I know – that would have been really strange!! Lx
