I’ve been very remiss in updating my blog of late. Too much going on, what with my back operation and all that. So this is a quick (late) update on my youngest and tallest child’s birthday a few months ago and a shout out to him, because he’s doing so well! Gainfully employed and has been nominated for Employee of the Month TWICE in the last year – so proud. He’s working hard, doing a lot of exercise, socialising and is just generally a great person to be around.
He and I are still living together and long may it last. My last child hasn’t yet flown the nest – although of course he would if rental prices were reasonable and he could afford it on his salary. He’s 24 now and a splendid specimen. Get’s on well with his brother and sister and I literally have no complaints. I do not say this lightly because ten years ago he was an absolute disaster and we really didn’t know where he was going to end up….prison was looking quite possible and it was frankly terrifying….
ANYWAY, life has changed dramatically for him and he’s seen the light. He’s coped with all the divorce drama, shed several stone, grown about 6 feet and is happy, kind and generous. When he got his first pay cheque, he took me out for dinner!!! All good things ahead I hope for him. He’s mainly working from home at the moment, as am I so we bumble along, sharing the occasional meal together, but catching up during the day. I’ve given up eating with him every night – he wants downtime after a day at his desk and wants to watch the football and the new series of “Industry” whilst I’m sitting at my computer eating up episodes of “Emily In Paris” and the “Hot Rabbi” rom com (not it’s actual name, but VG nevertheless).
He always gets important footy matches over his birthday!
