Happy Leap Year. Have you proposed??? I still don’t understand the actual point of this day but am thoroughly relieved not to have been born on the 29th February. I recently heard that it was introduced so that we ensure that June doesn’t end up shifting all the way into winter, but not sure whether that is true or not.
I’m not sure proposing on this day has really caught on in the dating world, which is marginally surprising given how women do like to be in charge of the whole wedding experience. I only know of one friend, who is now happily married having taken her “leap” of faith and proposed to her boyfriend four years ago. Apparently only 1 in 3 women would dream of proposing today…so I guess two thirds of us are still traditionalists at heart (or don’t have anyone to propose to more like). Or is it simply a matter of women feeling that they still don’t have equal rights?
What is the actual point of it? Could anyone please explain?
