HAPPY NEW YEAR for 2015!! May it bring you everything your heart desires (but be careful what you wish for and always remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck)

“Terrible or not, difficult or not, the only that is beautiful, noble, religious and mystical is to be happy.”

Arnaud Desjardins

So that is my aim for next year. A simple and yet immensely difficult thing to achieve. It’s been a funny old year, full of my favourite “live, love, laugh” mantra but with many smatterings of deep misery for a number of reasons. My little old family have been through the best and worst aspects of life this year. We are all still standing. Others aren’t. What we have learnt is that life is precious and needs to be lived.

ALSO the Dalai Lama says “A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life” – that too is a good and simple life message to follow.

So I hope for all of you that you find what you are looking for in your home and in your travels. May your year be full of this sort of stuff – sugar and spice and all things nice that you can choose from:-

….and when the going gets tough, just remember to keep going and going and going because that’s really all we can do.

I didn’t have Christmas day with all my children – my daughter was in Africa and my boys went to stay with their father, but we had the morning together:-

and then I went with my mother to stay with my brother – so she was happy with two out of her three children for Christmas – better than I managed – although the silly string helped, thoughtfully sprayed all over me by my niece:-

My daughter arrived safely home yesterday from what sounded like the most AMAZING holiday – more of that later. Just delighted she’s home in one piece even if she’s gone into a depression about how cold it is and how she’d much rather still be there.

So I wish you every happiness for the New Year – just enjoy every moment – even strange ones, where you find yourself in situations you never anticipated – just keep smiling and the world will smile with you (hopefully) and your wrinkles don’t look so bad either….(except round the eyes):-
