Just lovely. A spectacularly full house. All chilling. Late mornings. Hot sun. Cold beer. Builder Bloke is in his element. The more the merrier as far as he is concerned and he’s already to had to make two extra journeys to the airport to pick up yet more of us. I was a little worried about the numbers and “you’re very brave” was something I heard more than once before getting out here – but save for the occasional wistful glance at the lone sunbed:-
…it’s been great. We arrive at the pool en masse and somehow seem to take over – here they all are in the pool:-
Lying down, there is a row of ten of us now. Ridiculous. All big people too. The all have their music – headphones and speakers and are working furiously on their tans. After a lazy afternoon we are all together for dinner and then we generally wander into the local town of Alvor which is heaving. There are many choices of bars – my favourite is the reggae bar, but generally with all those testicles we’ve got with us (70%) it’s The Sport’s Bar that gets the vote.

July 26, 2012I can feel the heat of the sun and smell the grassy, sandy, limestoney, salty smell of the pool, mixed with sun cream, ice cream, Vinho verdi and the odd pint of San Miguel. The lone sun bed is clearly mine, I just forgot to get on the plane.
Enjoy x
