Writing a post about a luxury spa whilst sitting at my desk feeling cold and miserable is absolute torture. I am dreaming of my wonderfully luxuriating three day break to the Lefay Resort & Spa in Italy. I want to be wrapped up in their care and not exhausted by all the stress of my life at the moment. Now would be a good time to go and given that I am know aware of the fact that I am officially a “SWOFTY” (Single Woman Over 50) I thought I’d do one last post addressed mainly to my other friends who are also typecast in this way and suggest to them all that WE GET ON A PLANE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. RUN FAR FAR AWAY AND HIDE FROM ALL OTHER EXCESSES OF LIFE. I WANT TO GO BACK. I know the hotel isn’t open in January (although it should be!) but I want to go again, right this minute and live there forever. In fact, I’m going to invite some MWOFTY’s to join (Married Woman Over 50) because most of my friends are still happily married and it would be a shame to not merge the two…

Just look at why I’m pining:-

Exterior pool hi-res

Compared to this (although this isn’t my garden, it’s the local park):-

I have even just purchased some more shampoo from their own range. Honey shampoo – honestly the best shampoo I have ever used:-

and I’ve bought some more of the perfume sticks called Fichi E Agrumi (figs and citrus I believe) because it is the most divine scent ever – although perhaps that’s why I’m pining so much and it’s not good for me…having my kitchen smell just like their hotel is both good and bad. All their skin care products not only smelt lovely (and I’m very funny about smells) but they’re all developed with advanced technological formulas containing natural plant extracts.

So just to make myself feel a little bit worse here are a few more photos of the experience to show you. To be honest, you really couldn’t fault the whole experience – the food was sensational, the staff excellent and the location out of this world. It comes as no surprise that they have won many awards, both for their luxury spa and for their eco green credentials.

We were invited to experience their “Discovery” package which consisted of the following:-

Two nights in a Junior suite
Breakfast, lunch and dinner with the Lefay Spa menu
An introduction to the programme
Initial energy consultation to determine energy levels
Personalised herbal teas
1 energy face massage
1 energy body massage
1 energy hydro-aromatherapy
1 activity for rebalancing physical energy (we did a stretching of the Meridians class, but you can also do Qi Gong or Tai Qi whatever they are)
Entrance to the pools and saunas

That all costs from 650 euros per person based on 2 people sharing a room and full use of the spa facilities so COME ON GIRLS – start saving….or maybe I could persuade them to let me take a group of SWOFTY’s and show them how successful it would be to target us personally…(just saying..)

La Vigna

And you can drink alcohol – a major bonus for a group of SWOFTIES at a spa hotel – here is one of the best gin & tonics I have ever had (with Italian gin no less) and look how healthy it is – 3 of my 5 a day in there!

Lefay herbal g & t

After the alcohol, comes the food (getting my priorities in order obviously). I am not a food photographer so most of my photos did not do the beautiful creations we ate in the evening any justice at all – so you will have to trust me on this, but here are some that give you an idea:-

The freshest parma ham:-

The most beautiful cappuccino ever:-

Our lunch:-

The bread:-

The lunch pudding choices were ridiculous and I couldn’t choose, so I had them all – OMG to die for – I literally put them all onto two plates and then wished I hadn’t when I was lying on my stomach having a massage:-

Lefay more puddings

The evening chocolate puddings were even more extraordinary:-

The tea selection that they make up for you personally depending on what the doctor finds:-

So that’s it…I can’t take any more gloom about not being there. So I’m stopping but looking forward to going back soon (do you think I’ve dropped enough hints? If not, there’s another one below).

For more information on the hotel and prices, you can find it on their website www.lefayresorts.com – or ask me so that I can become and expert and they’ll invite me back!

If you want more torture then here are my previous two posts on the experience:-

Or if you want to buy anything from the shop:-

I was a guest of Lefay Resort & Spa and we were experiencing the above mentioned programme. The price does not include flights or transfers and the resort is just over an hour from Verona airport, which is served by regular flights from BA and Easyjet.

THANKS again for inviting me!!
