Some mornings it is just a joy to take my children to school. Look what we found round the corner:-
It made the whole park look like a bag of sugared almonds. Awash with sunlight – pale blue sky, pale green trees, just beautiful.
So just briefly, I didn’t mind that my daughter was complaining about her shoes, that we’d lost a crucial mouthguard, that I couldn’t find the rugby studs for his boots, that I forgot to get them to clean their teeth (hopefully did it anyway), that I can’t remember the Pilates positions I’m supposed to be doing this morning, that I look exhausted, that I can’t help my son pass his interview, that my house is cold, that I can’t get my head around Wikileaks and what is going on, or anything else that is currently on my mind….

December 9, 2010Gorgeous. ‘a bag of sugared almonds’. Beautiful description.
I’ve decided to let the rest of the world worry about Wilileaks. They will manage without my input :0)

December 9, 2010Don’t fret about the forgetting…or the not being able to… it’s all a part of missing your father massively. It will get better soon but it is so OK to let it overtake you for a while. Ace sugar almond pic. Really stunning. Easier for you to put daughter’s shoes, mouth guards and football studs on hold with that joyfulness just arond the corner. My heart soared the other day to behold the lace covered branches as I crunched across the Downs after a school stint. Magical.
