Thank you for all your amazingly supportive comments.

I am exhausted. I had a long conversation with my ex last night followed by a long conversation with Builder Bloke and it is all a complete mess and I hardly slept.

I am meeting BB for a drink tonight to discuss, so will wait until tomorrow to write about it.

In the meantime, I will leave you with my 8 year old son’s quote of the weekend:-

“Mum, I’m thinking about changing my name. It’s too boring. I’ve got three new names – which one do you like best – Dave, John or Shrek?”

Shrek! Love it! He has to change it to Shrek! I told my children that if we had another baby I would call it Shrek. I think they know me well enough to realise I was serious and spoke in earnest tones to their father about contraception. Tell your son that if he calls himself Shrek he’s always welcome at our place!

Sending love and hugs for strength.

Surely there is no contest? Although he may have to submit to being dyed green for the foreseeable future.

Good to keep your options open, namewise. And sounds like he’s an imaginative lad.

Good luck with the conversations. You don’t have to rush into a decision – trust your instinct and judgement and don’t be swayed by anyone else’s. And anyway, decisions made today or tomorrow might not be forever.

ps. I actually vote Dave!! ha ha

Shrek, definitely. At least it will give his teachers a giggle. (I once taught a “Merlin”, for real! I had to keep my face straight and avoid all magic jokes)

I was here a couple of months ago and missed out on, good grief, a whole lot, but am back now, have caught up, and am going to attempt to do the connect your blog onto mine thing (which I’m not very good at so hope it works) so I can keep up. Just wanted to say, in an anonymous bloggy kind of way, that you should hang in there, despite all the chaos, your children sound fabulous, as do you x

No, have to disagree. Dave. Love the name Dave. Always makes me laugh. Generally because most of the most revolting boyfriends I had were called Dave…or Pete…or Nick. My ten year old has a friend whose real name is Alexander but they all call him Dave. Why? ‘Because it suits him.’

On serious note, sorry it’s all crap…..courage ma brave….
