I spoke to my 8 year olds teacher this morning and she was going to have a word with the Deputy Head. Hopefully, once they are aware of it and keep an eye out, it won’t happen again.
He seemed fine after school – we went and bought some (charity) Christmas cards at his request to give to all his friends at school.
On our walk to the shops he asked:
“if I wanted to buy the whole ocean including the Atlantic, how much would I have to offer?”
“It’s not for sale, unfortunately” I told him.
“Yes, but if it was, how much would I have to pay? 100 million? Or more? Several billion?”
“I really couldn’t say – it would be really really expensive”
“Yes”, he said, “but everything has a price and I could buy it a bit at a time”.
“Good plan” I thought to myself. Aim high.
Later this evening he said:
“You know your advent calender missing chocolate? I was thinking that it MIGHT maybe have been me by accident when I actually thought it was my advent calender? And by accident what I THINK maybe might have happened was that I thought it was a number 7 or 6 and you know how sometimes I get all my numbers accidentally mixed up I think I got confused for a moment and by accident….i’m sorry mum, can I have my advent calender back now?
He’s not stupid, that boy. He’s forfeiting a chocolate for that. I’m looking forward to opening two number 9 windows tomorrow morning already!
My teenage son has had a day off school today so that the teacher’s can go Christmas shopping.
