Have you ever read “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!” by Dr Seuss? It’s a family favourite of ours and one entirely relevant to my new role as a “travel blogger” (imagine fingers making quote marks and one of my children taking the piss as this is said).
I am yet to work out quite how I’m going to best perform this role….travelling is such a wonderfully subjective thing. There are SO many places to go. SO many things to do. I can’t really go very far from home at the moment – children doing exams, work, commitments, pets, bills to pay – all the usual stuff.
In the meantime – we are allowed to dream aren’t we?
Here’s what Dr. Seuss says on the first couple of pages:-
“Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places
You’re off and away.
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.
I think I’m going to start growing old disgracefully by riding a Harley Davidson along Route 101. Where are you going to go?
