I can’t bear to look at my holiday photos today. Back to work now. The kids have gone away with their father for a bit. Sadly my youngest is hosting a very bad ear infection “swimming pool/sea ear” – I didn’t know that this was entirely typical and that I should have made him wear earplugs so that his ears wouldn’t fall off….he has now been told by the nurse that if he does anymore swimming this week he is in danger of losing his hearing. Poor thing.
My tan is already falling off in little dusty piles and my relaxed attitude completely squashed amidst a busy train packed with commuters this morning.
All I now left now as a stark reminder of my extravagant holiday are a number of refused cards every time I try and buy a carton of milk.
So I have to hang on to the fact that it was all worth the effort – just to get the children away on their own for a minute. Even if the memories are fading as quickly as my tan.
Maybe I should have spent it on a new bathroom after all…..

August 13, 2013Oh no – money is always better spent on the intangible things. Apart from wine, that is.

August 14, 2013Saw a lovely photo of your children on Facebook the other day – they looked relaxed and happy – so it was well worth doing.
