London has ground to a halt with 2″ of snow as per usual. I was working from home today, so snuggly warm and unstressed about snow on the line. Haven’t even thrown a snowball yet!
Love this message that came through today. So true – and it’s stopped me from Instagramming anyone except my son:-

That is so true. Where I live we can generally count on two snow/ice incidents each winter, usually in January and February. This winter? Snowpocalypse hit on Christmas Eve and took out over electricity in over 200,000 home/businesses. (Bear in mind that for some strange reason that my apartment complex, for example, with 170 apartments was classified as 1 business so the number of individuals affected was much, much higher). I was one of the lucky ones. My electricity was restored on the 4th day. I know people who missed a week of work because it took a grand total 9 days to get everyone back on the grid.
Earlier this week we had snow/ice/sleet again. Everyone panicked. Schools let out early. Offices closed. There was no bread or milk left in the grocery stores (for some reason, that’s the go-to purchase for everyone, even me and I don’t eat bread. It’s ingrained in our very DNA). Oh how we laughed when the storm passed and the roads remained ice-free this time.
