In haste, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for all their help and support and messages and nights out and birthday presents and shoulder’s to cry on and just everything thats good about being sad.
I’m off to pick up my children from school so that we can begin our long slow drive to my mother’s. My father’s funeral is tomorrow and I’m absolutely dreading it. I’ve written my Tribute. I just don’t know how I’m going to read it.
I just read it out loud in front of the mirror (because apparently that is what you are meant to do) and cried all the way through. Then I went upstairs to pack. Put my bag on to my bed, opened it up and a white feather literally flew out. I kid you not. Unbelievable. Nothing else was in the bag. There he is then, telling me that I’m going to be OK. Reminding me not to break down. He wouldn’t have wanted me to do that.
I also have purple hair. Not sure how that happened. I specifically remember telling the hairdresser to make me look like Cheryl Cole. Well I don’t. I look like an aubergine with puffy eyes.

November 25, 2010Another white feather is the best sign you could possibly have. Breath deep, stand tall and know that you are not alone. Remember footprints. You will not be alone and your father is showing you he is with you all the way. All my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family tomorrow, God Bless x
