I have checked the news and there seems to be nothing about the earthquake that occurred last night about 1am.

I was lying in bed, when suddenly everything around me started slightly shaking. I seriously thought about getting out of bed and running out to shout “THERE’S AN EARTHQUAKE, GET OUT OF THE HOUSE” but I couldn’t really quite be sure and also I couldn’t quite remember the drill. Sit in the bath? Put bath on head? Climb under a table? Stand in the doorway? Get as far away from the house as possible? Hide under a tree? It all sort of merged into one big what to do in a natural disaster emergency and I was completely useless.

Anyway. It didn’t last that long. 15 minutes? After minute two I remembered that my son had his girlfriend staying upstairs and I think they must have been jumping on the bed OR maybe he was just practicing his skipping?

Which was a huge relief. Sort of.

Not.

“FML” as my daughter would say. Whatever that means.

    FML???

    saz x

  • I’ve been in a few (thankfully mild, cos I am allergic to the ground shaking, brings me out in a cold sweat and the onset of complete hysterics) earthquakes and 15 minutes is hugely long compared to my own experience.

    Ermm….

How rigid is your house ?

    I’d go with the ..skipping.

God, I’ve heard it called many, many things over the years, but never Skipping! – it must be a SW London thing….x

Skipping? How many children have you……?

In the event of an earthquake, sit in the bath. By the time it has finished you will be under the bath, if not it’s a hell of lot easier to clean up!

Hmm. Pretty sure there was an earthquake. Not to worry if they were skipping I’m sure it was safe skipping! ;-p
