OK. This is not acceptable radio behaviour. Clearly there has been a massive blow up and Johnny has left the building. Far too abruptly for his band of loyal listeners. We are all wandering around feeling dazed and confused and I am not happy. He didn’t show up at the Jingle Bell Ball apparently and I read that Global Radio were not renewing his contract. That is a big mistake. Capital Radio breakfast show is currently the most popular commercial morning radio programme with just over a million listeners…..well watch those numbers drop. I think they’ve underestimated the pull of old JV. He will be missed massively.
I’m sure the new host, recently announced as Dave Berry will be great – but who is he? He doesn’t (as far as I’m aware) have a massive profile and that’s going to take time. Also, love Lisa though I do she worked very well with Johnny – when one part of the team goes, they both should go. It just won’t work.
WHAT HAPPENED?? I want to know the goss. Where will he turn up next I wonder?
