As well as Elephant Appreciation Day – it’s World Rhino Day – which means I’ve probably got the first date wrong. But oh well, I now feel obliged to also discuss the rhinos…
Save The Rhino Trust says that there are around 29,000 rhinos left in the world. Just over 5,000 black rhinos, 20,405 white rhinos (that’s very precise), 3,333 greater one horned rhinos, less than 100 Sumatran rhinos, no more than 61 Janvan rhinos and just one Northern white rhino.
