My teenage son has just come back from his football awards for the season. He plays for the First team who are in the year above and there were only two trophy’s given out. One for “Player Of The Year” and the other for “Young Player Of The Year”. He got the latter one AND I’M SO PROUD!!
The cup has been awarded to footballers at his school since 1890. He’s at the same school my Grandfather and uncles went to. “Just imagine” I said, “your Great Grandfather and/or Great Uncles could have had this award years and years ago….”I don’t think so mum” he said, “they didn’t play football did they”.
Oh well. It’s a lovely thought anyway.
